From a young age, I have always loved working with my hands. A career in the building industry seemed like the most natural fit. Working after school and most weekends with a handful of local builders, I was offered a job as a labourer in a construction company. After 12 months site labouring I then knew this was the field and the career I wanted.
I then pursued an apprenticeship and it wasn’t long before I had started as a carpenter with a local, multi award-winning building company who prided themselves on customer satisfaction and strict work ethics.

In 1990, I completed my trade certificate. Fast forward to today, and I’m the proud owner/operator of Dion Firmin Constructions, servicing Townsville and the surrounding areas.
